It's been nearly two years since I've had a chance to visit this blog, and I've recently been inspired to bring it back to life. Since the shutdown in 2011, I've had the birth of my beautiful son Tosh, who along with his Mother, is very healthy & happy! It has been such an amazing blessing to be a Dad, and I've come to appreciate so many things with a new perspective.
We recently took our little guy for a cruise down to the beach for a
quick surf and explore mission. I was anxious to paddle this board out
for the very first time, as it had been camped out in my garage for the
past year with a badly needed delam repair. I bought the board at the
swap meet, knowing that it had a few issues, but seeing it's potential
as a cool rider with a very thrifty price tag. I've never heard of NO BLACKBALL SURFBOARDS,
although I do have a sticker with the same logo which was intended to make it on this blog a few stories back, but ended up on the cutting room floor (funny!). Anyhow, the board is much
lighter than a few of my other logs, and it really surfed well in the
racy 2ft peelers that awaited my family and I last weekend.
My son has recently become much more observant and is now very cautious while at the beach. The sand might as well be "quicksand" for our little dude, and he really needs some time to warm up to the idea of all the noise, smell, and feel of the beach. It's so cool to blow kisses to him from out in the water, and to ride a wave up to the sand with him in sight....well gosh I'm sorry I sound like such a goober, but I'm just on Cloud 9.
